Beauty and Biodiversity Webinar Held Tomorrow

Keith Mellen and Anne Veck are the Directors of Anne Veck Ltd. They are to take leading roles in a webinar for the UK Business & Biodiversity Forum called Beauty and Biodiversity. It calls on the hair and beauty sector to help reverse the ‘catastrophic decline in nature.’

The Beauty and Biodiversity presentation will be taking place on Tuesday 25th February 2022 at 11am UK time. It will be the first in a series of sector-focused webinars. They will centre around the theme ‘making nature positive happen’ and is also open to all business throughout the industry. These will include salon owners, freelance hairdressers and beauticians, manufacturers, wholesalers, training and qualifications bodies as well as trade media.

Keith Mellan is the organiser and also host of the event which will feature Anne Veck. The aim is that participants will take away a clear understanding of the actions they can take in their businesses to help reverse biodiversity decline, whilst also aiding their own commercial success.

Certified Carbon Neutral

Anne and Keith are fierce advocates of halting climate change. They have worked tirelessly to make significant changes to their salon business; so much so that in 2019 Anne Veck Oxford was the first UK salon to be certified carbon neutral. Keith is also the only representative of the hairdressing industry to sit on the Advisory Board to the Sustainable Beauty Coalition. This is a division of the British Beauty Council. He and partner Anne have won countless awards for their ongoing environmental initiatives. These are aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of their salon business as well as encouraging others to do the same. Additionally, they are the brains behind the Salon Re:Source kit, a downloadable document providing information on the changes that hairdressers and salon owners can make to play their part in creating a more environmentally-conscious industry.

Keith will lead a panel of some of the industry’s best known and most influential names, including Marcelo Behar, Vice President Sustainability & Group Affairs at Natura & Co (who also own iconic brands including The Body Shop and Aesop); Dayv Metcalfe, Regional Sales Manager London for Davines; Fry Taylor, founder of the Green Salon Collective and Karine Jackson, plus Rosina Robson, Director Policy & Public Affairs of the NHBF. The 90-minute webinar will be packed with practical advice. This will include how to make your life ‘clean and beautiful while never compromising the beauty of the world around you’ and how businesses can operate in ways which ‘protect and even regenerate nature, whilst still creating economic value.’

Beauty and Biodiversity, a UK Business & Biodiversity Forum webinar, will take place on Tuesday 25th January at 11am.
