On the mainstage of MCB by BS on September 10th, Maison de Beauté Carita received the prestigious Best Salon Award. A look back at a design competition which brings together the most beautiful salons in the world.
The Best Salon Award is THE international design competition, organised each year by MCB by BS and Estetica magazine It brings together the best in terms of space layout, design concept and visual impact. This year, the jury consisted of Roberto Pissimiglia, director of Estetica, Christophe Gabreau, organiser of MCB by BS and president of Standing Events, as well as Sergi Bancells, secretary general of the AIPP and journalist for Estetica.
THE SHORT LIST OF FINALISTS FOR THE BEST SALON AWARD
For this 9th edition, the jury received 67 applications representing 19 countries from around the world. Each time, it was recently opened or redesigned salon spaces that really caught the jury’s eye. This seclection process resulted in a short list made up of 20 exceptional salons.
AND THE WINNER IS…
Third place, the Sebastiano Attardo Privé salon in Milan. This establishment pays homage to the Sicilian roots of its owner while inserting designer and elegant furniture.
Second place, Bounce The Eco Salon, in Chennai, India. Bounce is a chain of salons located in several major cities in India. The jury selected their establishment in Chennai, renovated in August 2022. Eco-responsible, its operation is based on three keywords, reuse, reduce and recycle, in order to control the carbon footprint and preserve natural resources.

SPOTLIGHT ON CARITA
The very beautiful Maison de Beauté Carita won the support of the jury with its impeccable and evocative design. The project was the brainchild of two talented architects: Cristiano Benzoni and Sophie Thuillier, founders of the REV architecture studio and worthy heirs to Jean Nouvel. Invited to take the MCB stage, they joined director of the Maison de Beauté Carita, Katia Schaffhauser, to receive the coveted Best Salon Award 2023.
