Having emerged from an incredibly difficult 18 weeks of closure following the countries COVID19 lockdown, the team at F&M Hairdressing in Barrhead wanted to show their gratitude to the key workers who kept the country going during such a difficult time.
During lockdown, F&M Hairdressing joined National Hair Sunday (NHS), a fantastic initiative founded by hairdressers Royston Blythe and Nick Malenko of Royston Blythe in the West Midlands. The initiative was launched to say thank you to the key workers of the United Kingdom, who worked so tirelessly throughout the pandemic and who kept the country running.
As part of this initiative, F&M put the word out to their clients, asking them to nominate key workers in their local area of Barrhead who they felt deserved to be treated after such an incredibly difficult few months.
This gesture was met with such delight and the team received over 100 nominations in such a short space of time. Following so many nominations, the team put all nominations in a hat, giving a fair chance to all those key workers that had been nominated. In total the team chose 30 names, and invited them into the salon for a well-deserved treat. It was their way of saying thank you, showing a great deal of gratitude for everything they have done during the pandemic.
“Being part of National Hair Sunday was so important to us. The key workers in our local area, like many around the UK, put themselves at risks for all,” said Brian MacMillan of F&M Hairdressing. “We wanted to do something to say thank you, whilst giving them something back in order to treat them. It was such a fantastic day in the salon and both the team and our key workers had a great time.”
