Last night was the biggest night in fashion with the annual Met Gala in New York City. The theme of this year’s exhibit was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” – all about fashion made in the USA! Celebrity stylist Laura Polko created the amazing hairstyles worn by Emma Chamberlain and Dixie D’Amelio using Aquage products.

Inspiration:We wanted to keep it young and cool but not too young. Chic is the vibe and keeping the focus on the eyes
▶ Prepped wet hair using the Aquage Uplifting Foam, starting from the back and working through to the front.
▶ Set back of hair all the way up to the crown using Velcro rollers.
▶ On the front of the hair, I used the Aquage CBD Medium Hold Styling Gel to slick down the front and ensure hair had a shiny finish.
▶ To set hair, I hit it with heat using T3 Fit Dryer and held in place with Scunci setting clips.
▶ From there, I went through the bottom using the T3 Curl ID on Emma’s heat setting, which is 4, and flipped the ends out.
▶ I finished the look off with the Aquage Finishing Spray.
▶ At the crown of the head, used I used the Aquage Dry Texture Finishing Spray for hold and volume.

▶ With a fine-tooth comb, section off the front pieces of the hair, and tuck behind one ear to keep separate from the rest.
▶ Pull remaining hair back tightly towards the back of the head, between the crown and the nape, working in triangle sections, securing on the sides and the top. This is to give the effect of a baby part, which extends about one inch back from the hair line.
▶ Set the front of the hair with the T3 Fit Dryer.
▶ Once the baby part is in place, straighten hair with T3 Lucea ID and secure hair into a low pony at the nape, working in the Aquage CBD Medium Hold Styling Gel and Aquage Transforming Paste to smooth strands and lock in the style.
▶ From there, I wrapped hair into a bun and pinned it into place, using a touch of the Aquage CBD Texturizing Pomade for texture and hold.
