For your clients, damaged and dry hair can be among their biggest hair care concerns. After all, hair is easily damaged due to bleaching, highlighting, or excessive heat treatments. So, if damaged and dry hair are the most common complaints for your clients, here’s how you can use Redken’s new Acidic Concentrate Hair Care System to transform their hair for the better.
(Want to achieve results like these for your clients? Then keep reading).
But first, some science
Before we go on to tell you how to use Redken’s new Acidic Concentrate Hair Care System, let’s look at some of the science that’s gone into this new hair care regime. If you have clients who like to know the details, this section will help you answer their questions!
The first thing to know is the formula upon which all of Redken’s products are based:
PROTEIN + MOISTURE + ACIDIC PH = HEALTHY HAIR.
This formula basically sums up the science which underpins Redken’s Acidic Concentrate Hair Care System.
How exactly does Redken’s new Acidic Bonding Concentrate work?
Redken’s new Acidic Bonding Concentrate uses a new three-step regime which is formulated with Citric Acid. This is an alpha hydroxy acid that helps to protect weak bonds in your client’s hair to improve hair strength and resilience (especially after a bleach or colour service).

It’s the regime’s pH-balancing formula that will infuse your client’s hair with intense conditioning, protecting against colour fade and breaking.
If that’s not enough science to convince your client, we’ve rounded up 10 key benefits that will come from using this hair care system:
- Protects hair from heat up to 230 degrees.
- Up to 56% less breakage*.
- Helps protect from colour fade.
- Provides intense conditioning.
- Helps to protect weak bonds**.
- Makes hair feel up to 11x smoother***.
- Up to 82% less visible split ends****.
- Tames frizz.
- Adds shine.
- Helps to strengthen hair.
What’s not to like?! Seriously though, Redken’s new Acidic Bonding Concentrate system really can help salvage the most tired, damaged and dry hair.

How to use Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate Hair Care System
The first thing you’ll need to do is assess your client’s need for protein and/or moisture.
Assess hair damage
There are a few quick ways you can do this:
- Take a strand of hair between two fingers and gently pull either end. Healthy, undamaged hair will stretch to around one-third of its original length. If the hair snaps then it will be suffering from protein damage. If the hair stretches, but doesn’t return to its original length, it is suffering from dryness.
- Gently take an inch wide section of hair between two fingers and gently pull your fingers down the hair to the ends. As you’re pulling your fingers down the hair, concentrate on the texture and feel of the hair. If you can feel an uneven surface with kinks and sections that snap off under tension, then the hair is damaged.
Once you’ve assessed the extent of the dryness and/or damage to your client’s hair it’s time to set up the treatment.
Set up the treatment
Depending on how badly damaged or dry your client’s hair is, you can use the Redken Acidic Amino Concentrate and Redken Acidic Moisture Concentrate in various ratios. This means you can provide a completely customisable treatment to help transform your client’s hair.
Apply the Acidic Protein Amino Concentrate to help strengthen and repair the hair, layer with the Acidic Moisture Concentrate to replenish the hair’s moisture and leave it feeling ultra-soft and silky, and finally finish with the Acidic pH sealer to achieve a smooth finish and long-lasting results.
As an added benefit, this whole treatment is very quick which makes it ideal for both time-poor clients and busy stylists!

Treat in 3 steps
Let’s quickly re-cap the process.
Step 1
Assess your client’s hair. If it’s particularly dry or damaged, make a note of this for the next step.
Step 2
Apply up to 15ml of the Acidic Protein Amino Concentrate to help strengthen and repair. Then layer with up to 15ml of the Acidic Moisture Concentrate which will replenish the hair’s moisture.
You can vary the ratios of these two concentrates depending on how much moisturising or repair is necessary. Please note though – the total formula of the two concentrates should not exceed 30ml.
Step 3
Complete the treatment with 10-15 pumps of the Acidic pH sealer to help balance the pH levels in the hair and seal the cuticle for a smooth finish and long-lasting results. Leave on for 1 minute and then rinse out and style.
Follow that simple 3 step process and you’ll have transformed your client’s hair! So, if you regularly deal with clients who suffer from dry and damaged hair, make sure you’ve got Redken’s new Acidic Concentrate Hair Care System in stock.
