Today, clients have so many treatments to choose from in their quest for gorgeous, glowing skin. With a growing number of non-invasive, fast-acting treatments – such as dermaplaning, lash lifts and LED light therapy, it’s never been easier for clients to achieve their desired complexion.
So, here at Salons Direct, we are excited to bring you our latest addition to our beauty salon product range – the brand new MTSA Iced Glacier Microneedle system!
Microneedling has been around for the past couple of decades in aesthetics clinics, but the price of the machines has kept it from becoming as easily available.
Now, with the introduction of more accessible tools like the MTSA Iced Glacier system, microneedling is quickly gaining traction. What’s more, with fans of the treatment spreading their amazing results on social media, it’s quickly becoming one of the most sought after beauty fixes.

Microneedling. It looks scary. It looks painful. It looks complicated.
But it’s actually quite straightforward and the results can be life changing.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure whereby lots of tiny needles are used to create microscopic punctures in the top layers of the skin.
The needles used range in length, usually from 0.5mm to 1.5mm, so they only puncture the surface layer of your skin.
What does microneedling do?
By creating these tiny punctures, a microneedling treatment works to rejuvenate your skin.
In repairing these punctures, the skin produces new tissue that boosts collagen production, which in turn reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and acne scarring – and in general, incentivises the production of youthful looking skin.
Salons all over the world are adding microneedling treatments to their services list to meet the demand that is bubbling in the market.
How does microneedling work?
The manual method or the machine method?
There are two types of microneedling; the manual method and machine methods.
The manual microneedle is a simple handheld device, as shown above, which is rolled along the client’s skin during the treatment.
The machine method is a mechanical device used.
One isn’t specifically better than the other – however, good quality, reliable machines can be quite expensive, often costing £1,000 – £2,000.
With the client outcome being equal for both treatment methods, many skin care technicians start their journey with manual microneedling devices.
How to offer microneedling at your salon
So what is the MTSA Iced Glacier Microneedling system?
The MTSA Iced Glacier Microneedling system is the highest quality manual-method microneedle on the market today!
It was designed by Kirsty Schumann, the founder of Model Standards, a skincare clinic & training academy, who wanted to make skincare more accessible to everybody.
“Quite often, people are put off by the way in which advanced skincare treatments are packaged at the moment.
Microneedles, among others, have traditionally been a scary looking device which puts clients off the treatment. We’ve made it our mission to make skincare treatments less scary and more appealing to everybody.
That’s why we’ve reinvented the microneedle to be the prettiest, highest quality product available on the market. We’ve seen first hand in our skincare clinics how subtle changes to the way a device looks, in real life and on social media, can bring more enquiries into your clinic.”
