Kate Harrison joins Sustain Beauty Co

Kate Harrison joins Sustain Beauty Co as VP of Brand Growth, poised to focus on sustainability in the professional beauty industry.

Kate Harrison was previously Senior Director of Professional Strategy + Business Development at amika. There she consolidated her career, helping to push the brand into triple-digit growth over the past 5 years. Today Kate Harrison joins Sustain Beauty Co as VP of Brand Growth. She will head up a team determined to answer the call to sustainability in the professional beauty industry.

Sustain Beauty Co, aka SBCo, was launched in 2019 to provide eco-friendly, high-performing alternatives to essential but polluting professional beauty products. It now offers a range of exciting products such as ECOHEADS showerheads and color mixer, Procare 24*7 foil printing machine, and eco-friendly disposable Scrummi Towels. The brand also partners with sustainable brands like Green Circle Salons, Vish Color Management and Ergo. These partners have similar mindsets, determined to help the beauty professional in attaining sustainability goals.

I am passionate about sustainability and love the ethos of Sustain Beauty Co. Its focus is on building a community of beauty professionals who care about their clients and want to grow cleaner, more eco-friendly businesses,” said Kate. Indeed, Harrision completed her certification in Corporate Sustainability at NYU Stern School of Business in 2021. “Sustainability shouldn’t be overwhelming, with that all-or-nothing attitude. Sustain Beauty Co believes that by providing high-performance, sustainable options, hairdressers and salons can choose to edge towards, rather than leap into, sustainability.

FOCUSING ON GOALS

Indeed, Kate joins Sustain Beauty Co intent on replicating her professional channel community successes at amika. She built the @amikapro Instagram page to 55K in less than two years with her passion for the beauty professional. The channel became an important destination for the amika salon network during lockdown. She also launched the successful series of Master Class sessions, built an artist lineup, and the salon affiliate program. Kate spearheaded and launched the amika’s first stylist group in 2020 to source the community in brand decisions.

We are incredibly excited that Kate Harrison is joining SBCo to help grow our community and provide what our members need to protect and grow their business,” said Valorie Tate, co-founder of Sustain Beauty Co. “Kate recognized that Sustain Beauty Co is as much a collaboration of like-minded artists, tools, brands and partners as it is a source of products for the performance-oriented hair stylist. She is the person to lead that community forward.
