The Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s, ClubStar Art Team members were treated to a tutorial on how to create character hairstyles by Men’s Hair Specialist and Head of Education at Manifesto, Rino Riccio.
Rino started by telling the team a little about himself. He started hairdressing when he was 12 and is from a family of Italian hairdressers. He moved to London 7 years ago, when he launched the hugely successful Manifesto brand, which now consists of two London salons in Granary Square and Clerkenwell. “I couldn’t see myself working in the salon full-time and always felt inspired to also compete and educate,” explains Rino.
Rino invited the Clubstar Team to ask questions throughout the session, before going to to share his collection and his tip on how to create character hairstyles depending on the suitability of the model. The trend is now on the emphasis on creating a character rather than making pretty. RIno adds: “Pretty boys can sometimes get so boring, character is cool!”
