Flat waves, natural mood and enhanced reflections; these are some of the characteristics of the flob, also called the flat iron bob, this season’s variant of the bob, a cut that has characterised international hairstyles for years.

The name flob was coined by George Northwood, London hairstylist to the stars, including of course Alexa Chung, who has always been fond of the bob.

In particular and as the name Flob implies, to characterise this version are waves created with a flat iron on the hair that is usually longer at the collarbones. In fact, for this reason it is important not to work too much across the ends, which must remain straight, and not to be excessive with the zigzag effect so as not to lose the natural movement. To say that The Flob is the New Bob, the volume is somewhat contained and is also concentrated on the upper part of the head, starting from the roots and slowly diminishing along the lengths.

For colour, there is no particular preference: the flob enhances any shade from platinum blonde all the way through to mahogany.
