Tommy’s Hair Company salon group in North Wales has shown its commitment to the local community by giving something back to key workers who have been fighting the global pandemic on the front line.
The team at Tommy’s launched TommysLoveAndCare (TLC), a platform that was created during lock down to show appreciation for key workers who worked on the front line during the global pandemic. The website allowed users to go on and nominate their key worker, whom they felt deserved a treat for their commitment to the community during the difficult lockdown period. Users are asked to log onto the website and nominate a key worker by simply providing their name and contact details. Tommy’s TLC ran until the salons could reopen.
Having received a large amount of nominations, the Tommy’ team chose 30 winners, who were contacted and invited into the salon to receive a complimentary appointment and well deserved treat for keeping the community alive during the severe lockdown restrictions. This was a chance for the team to thank them for supporting their local communities throughout such a difficult time.
Tommy’s Hair Company owners Esther and Tommy van der Veken have witnessed first hand just how incredibly brave all key workers have been during such a difficult period: “The global pandemic is something we have never experienced before in business and we’ve witnessed just how hard our front line workers have worked to keep the community moving forward. Everyone from Tommy’s Hair Company is in awe of these wonderful people and TLC was our way of giving back and saying thank you. We enjoyed every second of treating our front line workers.”
