Trésor

Trésor

Juan Ayoso’s ‘Trésor’ collection is inspired by French pirate women from the golden Corsican age of the 17th – 18th Centuries.

For the pirate, a woman on board meant bad luck and conflict. Nevertheless, the lack of female company often led sailors to pass off their lovers as cabin boys, even though if a man were found seducing anyone of the opposite sex he would suffer death. The hair colour and make-up is inspired by gemstones.

“Our imagination ais triggered when we hear about some of the most incredible pirate treasures in history. Gold, jewels, precious stones or extremely rare relics for which many privateers gave their lives,” explains Juan Ayoso. “In the textures of the hair we wanted to reflect burnt wood chips and rope, with sumptuous texture to give a baroque touch.”
